I am in my 20′s and not currently a student and I have never owned a credit card. I am going to use it mostly for gas and any rough spots between pay checks, or emergencies…nothing else, I just want to build credit.. . I filled out an application for the American Express green card and was approved instantly before I decided I wanted to have that card they sent it out to me. I have the card now and haven’t activated it yet. Since I first applied I have heard bad things about the card and someone suggested I get a card with no annual fees and make it Visa or Mastercard (like the Citi Bank U Promise card) instead. I need help badly.
